Create Your Own Naughty Scent
Of the many reasons why the French are so erotic, knowing how to use their senses is one of the most important.
French people instinctively know how to use taste, touch, sight and sound to make everything around them sexy, and they also know how to use scent.
Unlike American women (and guys!,) who tend to shower themselves in perfumes and colognes, the French go for subtlety because they know that a little goes a long way.
They also know that having a unique scent is what makes them stand out from the crowd.
It's no coincidence that the capital of the world's perfume industry is in Grasse, in southern France, but you don't need to go that far in search of your own personal scent.
There are plenty of perfume houses in LA which can help you create your own unique fragrance and have you feeling naughty all day long.

The mantra of this spa store is “inner bliss, outer beauty,” and that certainly holds true of their scent-sual services.
The owner, Jennifer, is a perfume expert and has studied the art all over the world, so you're in good hands.
There are various ways to design your own scent, from holding a blending party with friends, to having a personal session with one of their “Scentual Mixtresses.”
If you're not in LA, you can also have a virtual consultation via e-mail where the mixtress quizzes you about your requirements and creates an individual scent just for you.
Prices start from just $45 and you get to name your fragrance, too.
Scent Bar by Lucky Scent

Great for a girly day out, Scent Bar is a sexy, feminine perfume store which operates just like a normal bar – you sit on stools with your cocktail or prosecco and peruse the scents on offer, with absolutely no pressure to buy.
It's about relaxing, enjoying the mood and then “feeling” the right perfume for you.
They provide free samples of existing scents or you can fill out the fun “Fragrance Fitting Questionnaire” with questions such as “Who would play you in a movie of your life?,” and “What do you want for your birthday this year?,” in order to discover the perfume which is tailor-made for you.

Perfumiers for over 25 years, Parfums Raffy offers both in-store and online fragrance blending for women who know what they like and already have an idea of what their perfect blend would be.
All you have to do is choose a base note and up to four accents, in an order of your choice, and they'll do the rest.
Sounds daunting, but you can sample each base note for $1 to get a better idea of what formulas will work and, more importantly, what definitely won't.
They also stock a good range of rare and discontinued fragrances, so if you're afraid of mixing yourself the wrong scent, choosing one of their vintage stock would be just as good as designing your own, because nobody else is likely to have it.
It's so exclusive here, though, that you have to book an appointment just to be let through the door.

Persephenie runs a specific perfume course for beginners who want to learn about how perfume is made, as well as design their own fragrance.
The emphasis is very much on natural ingredients and botanical inspirations, everything is 100% organic and hand-mixed and, at the end of the class, students get to make their own fragrance based on what they've learned during the day.
It's about learning how to identify different scents and working out what works best with your own body chemistry.
One class here will have you thinking entirely differently about how you choose your fragrances.

Probably one of the most luxurious scent-sual experiences of them all, Opus Oils offers three main perfume packages to find you the perfect personal fragrance.
You can book into one of their classes at the “Perfume School” where you learn about the history of perfume, what goes into creating the perfect perfume, how to describe perfume and articulate what you want from a fragrance before, ultimately, creating your own scent to take home with you.
Half-day classes are also available, as are private one-on-one sessions with their expert alchemist, Kedra.
